Vermont Contemporary Playwrights’ Forum In an effort to support theatre that is vibrant, innovative, and new, MOXIE Productions presents the Vermont Contemporary Playwrights Forum Award each year to an author of an unpublished original play. Chosen from all those submitted in response to a national call for entries, the selected work is given both a developmental process and a premier production. Those involved in the process of developing the work include the playwright, a collaboration of Vermont and professional artists, musicians and technicians (as needed), and a mentor program for the training of various theatre craft. If deemed appropriate, a production of the play will enter the state, regional or national theatrical arenas in touring capacities.

The long-term goals of such an effort are:
  • To create a forum for the support of viable new American theatre.
  • To bring theater artists and enthusiasts together in collaboration.
  • To provide a training ground for all aspects of theatre craft and production.
